Product Overview

The TK-G1-RJ45 is a hot-pluggable copper SFP transceiver designed for Gigabit Ethernet applications. It conforms to IEEE 802.3-2002 and IEEE 802.3ab (1000BASE-T) standards. The module operates at 1000Mbps data rate over Category 5 unshielded twisted-pair cable with a maximum reach of 100 meters.

Signal transmission uses 5-level Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) on all four wire pairs (250 Mbps per pair) for full-duplex links. The module includes serial ID functionality per SFP MSA, accessible via a 2-wire serial bus at address A0h. The physical layer IC can also be accessed at address ACh.

  • Plug Seq.: Pin engagement order during hot-plugging.
  • TX_FAULT: Permanently low (not supported).
  • TX_DISABLE: Internal 4.7kΩ pull-up. Low (0-0.8V) → transceiver on; High (2.0-3.465V) or open → reset.
  • Mod-Def 0/1/2: Host pulls up with 4.7k-10kΩ to Vcc. Mod-Def 0 = module present (grounded). Mod-Def 1 = clock, Mod-Def 2 = data.
  • RX_LOS: LVTTL output. Can be disabled (order option). If unused, tied to ground via 100Ω.
