Fiber optic converters are Ethernet media transmission units that convert electrical signals on twisted pair cables for short distances to optical signals for long-distance transmission. Also known as fiber to Ethernet converters, these devices are essential for internet environments where Ethernet cables cannot cover the required distance and fiber optic cables are needed to extend transmission range.
Fiber optic media converters break the 100-meter distance limitation of Ethernet cables, effectively extending internet coverage to 120km. Utilizing high-performance dedicated chipsets and large capacity cache, they provide non-blocking transmission performance while offering flow balancing, conflict isolation, and error detection to ensure secure and stable data transmission.
The 14-Slot Rack-mount Chassis is specifically designed for chassis-based Media Converters. This standard 19-inch 2U height rack-mount chassis can be mounted in standard 19-inch racks, allowing multiple media converters to be installed alongside network equipment for space efficiency and organized cabling.
