MPO connectors can reduce the size of one connector interface, and support fiber transmission of more than two cores. They are listed in standards ISO/IEC 24764 and ANSI/TIA-568-C as recommended types. With the rising of the Internet of Things, data centers are embracing new technologies.
MPO/MTP patchcords are only double the size of LC-type connectors. They occupy far less space in the data center, thus enabling more efficient transmission. The MPO connection needs to be the same count of cores (eg. 12 cores to 12 cores, 24 cores to 24 cores etc). Furthermore, their connecting polarity needs to be different with one male connector connecting to one female. Besides, PC and APC polishing type cannot be combined.
