MPO MTP Patchcord Description:
The 8 cores MPO MTP to unit boot LC jumpers cable is different from the normal LC connector. The MPO cables are most commonly used with high-density fiber patch panels. 1U 2U size or other size patch panel in data center application.
The normal LC connectors only have 1 core in each boot, and each connector uses 1 cable. But unit boot LC is very different, it will use the duplex mini fiber cable to cross the LC boot. MPO MTP to LC 8 fibers cable is for connecting with the QSFP transceiver module. We use 12 fibers MPO MTP to produce it, then it will leave 4 fibers that do not have a core in the MPO MTP connector.
The Unit boot connector as we can see in the picture, it also has two LC housing and connector, but they use in common one boot. There are two ways to produce the 8 fibers MPO MTP connector patch cord. One way is to keep 4 fibers empty in the middle of the MPO MTP connector, or each side left 2 fibers, only use the 8 fibers of the middle.
MPO MTP fiber patch cable has many types according to the different applications. The MTP fiber cable can be mass terminated in combinations of 4, 8, 12, 24, and 48 fiber ribbon cables. Optional Lengths are available. High-density MTP/MPO trunk cables with up to 288 fibers in a single cable.
