Product Overview

Fiber Optic Heat Shrinkable Tubing designed for fusion splice protection and coating restoration. This advanced protector consists of three integrated components that work together to ensure optimal performance and durability.

  • Stainless steel or ceramic reinforcing rod - Provides mechanical strength at the splice joint
  • Hot melt tube - Seals and restores the fiber coating
  • Cross-linked polyolefin outer tube - Offers environmental protection and shrinkage stability

When heated, the outer polyolefin tube shrinks, melting the inner hot melt adhesive to create a complete seal around the splice area. The reinforcing rod adds essential rigidity, preventing fiber bending or breakage at the critical fusion point.

Applications

Rebuilds fiber coating to provide mechanical strength at fusion joint areas while maintaining optimal optical transmission properties. Consists of reinforcing rod, hot fusion tubing, and cross-linked polyolefin for comprehensive protection.
