MPO/MTP Patchcord Description:
MPO/ MTP is a very high-density fiber optic connector, it only the double size of LC, but it can be contained from 8 fibers to 72 fibers. extremely save the space for the data center.
The MPO connection principle is that the same core number connector must be connected (12 cores with 12 cores, 24 cores with 24 cores, etc.), one male connector connects with a female connector, and it must be the same polishing type( PC to PC, APC to APC). If both are female MPO MTP connectors, then they can't be connected. Also, the PC polishing couldn't be connected with APC polishing.
When we choosing the MPO patch cord, you should know the gender and polarity of the MPO MTP patch cord in your data center. For example, if the MPO MTP connector is a male type, then you should purchase a female type MPO MTP patch cord so that they can be connected together.
